However this unknown brand …… to be precise, it is not a brand but a bespoke shirts maker…… will probably overturn the image that you have of the Napolitan shirts.
This shirt from Camiceria Piccirillo is totally different from other Napolitan made shirts.

About Camiceria Piccirillo

First of all, let me introduce what this Camiceria is like.

When famous street called “Spacca Napoli” in old city of Naples comes to end, if you will cross via Duomo, there is a popular street called Vicaria Vecchia. It is there where you find the small workshop of Sartoria and Camiceria Piccirillo.

You would think that it is odd that Sartoria and Camiceria works together. Now I will tell you the secret of this mistery. This small workshop is run by brothers, Gianni Piccirilo makes suits, and Maurizio Piccirillo do shirts under the same roof.

A certain kind of brands such as Kiton and Cesare Attolini also have shirts on their collection with their famous suits and jackets, but many of Sartorias in Naples don’t because it is totally different dishes.

It was a very interesting that each brothers of Piccirillo is enthusiastic about each works and under the same small roof, while making these different type of clothes. This is how Sartoria Piccirillo can be Camiceria Piccirillo at the same time.

They sometimes sew some inside part of a jacket for Gianni’s customer’s suit togther, and sometimes they are talking about fitting of a shirt for Maurizio’s customer.

In addition, two young people mainly work together with the brothers. They are not strangers, but are their relatives. If you stay in this Sartoria, constantly you will see hundreds of their families and relatives come in and speak something, and go out again.

One day completely unknown grandpa was just sitting on a chair in Sartria for some reason and watching their working. Later he turned out to be the master pizza maker of the famous pizzeria “Di Matteo” (he was also a relative of Piccirillo).

This brother’s workshop is loved by local well dressed gentlemen. Sartoria and Camiceria Piccirillo is very far from those brands only named “Sartoria” and “Camiceria”or only labeled “Made in Napoli.” It is the place that you have the real experience of Sartoria and Camiceria Napoletana.

Ready-made shirts, made right in the same process of bespoke

These shirts are made exclusively for us, Professore Rambaldi Shizuoka by asking Maurizio Piccirillo in the ideal of creating one of the best handmade shirt ever. (the shirt worn in the photo is the private bespoke fitted to me, but the details and making processes are the same. So what you see in the photo is almost the same as what you get when you buy the ready-made shirt in our online shop).

Basically Maurizio is a specialist of bespoke shirts, not of ready-made. It was lucky that he already have seen our Instagram before, which makes him eager to do the ready-made shirts. Fortunately my shop is a specialized shop of Napolitan bespoke cloth, and enough to have the bespoke quality handmade shirts.

Incidentally, customers of Maurizio are not only the people of the upper class of Naples, but also folks of Naples. I must say that the location of this workshop is what we call downtown (It is very close to Forcella where famous for its danger).
As a result, Maurizio do not only the classic shirts but also some catchy stuffs apparently ordered by younger clients. That is why You will see something casual on his Instagram.

The shirts I ordered for my shop are in the most basic style of Naples that seems to be expressed with this one word “Classic”. Thanks to that, Camiceria Piccirillo had done them wonderfully.

Now wearing the shirt made by Camiceria Piccirillo with great linen/cotton fabric, I feel that this is probably one of the best ready-made shirt in Naples.

The shirt made in the exactly same process of bespoke has very soft feeling as you can even feel by looking at the photo.
Some parts of the shirt are gathered beautifully. If you wear this shirt, you may say that it beyonds a shirt since it is more like a skin, which always comes along with your body.
However I would say this is not anything but a shirt. Because it is not only very comfortable but also dressing a man in the elegant phenomenon by the real culture of Napolitan bespoke shirts.

You see that the shirt has much more gathers than usual and it is dedicated to making it more easier to move your arms. I guess you have felt some stress when putting your hands forward for example when you work on a desk or driving a car. The gathers on the shirt and good patterning will release you from those kind of stress.

Not only sleeve attachments and buttonholes, but also yokes, gazettes, plackets etc are done by hand-sewing……not only sewn by hands but sewn by hand carefully, by very professional senses.

Stitches on the front placket are usually stop at the half, but I have ordered him to sew all up to the top. Second to me, this will be a beautiful accent when you wear the shirt without ties “Senza Cravatta.”

Currently in Professore Rambaldi Shizuoka, we have the collection of Camiceria Piccirillo made with cotton/linen fabric.

The fabric that I selected this time is one of the finest. With a touch of linen on the smooth high-end cotton, it has a dressy atmosphere enough to be worn in a suit made with fine worsted wool.

In Italy cotton linen is worn all the year round. It can be said to be a shirt for stylish people who know the real elegance.

However even in this mid August, some people in the menswear shops wear the autumn and winter items, for example the flannel and tweed. Many shops are providing new AW items, competing for the first.

In fact, in Japan they tends to try AW stuffs in unreasonably earlier seasons such as the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. They think that earlier is more elegant. No, the real elegance is enjoying the season and climate just as you feel. Even it was November, if you feel it is like August, you can wear linen items.
